Job Description

Are you a Technical / Sales Manager looking for a new role? Do you have proven ability to develop sales pipeline from both incoming leads and current customers? Join our client in Oxfordshire as a Technical Sales Manager.

The Technical Sales Manager will:

  • Build a sales pipeline and manage all aspects of the sales process, from leads to completion of orders, to grow sales

  • Meet with existing and potential customers to review their needs

  • Maintain good customer relationships to foster referrals and repeat orders

  • Using own initiative identify potential customers for contract services and systems

  • Make contacts to develop own sales leads

  • Report on the competitive landscape

  • Respond to contract manufacturing and industrial systems enquiries using the company's technical and manufacturing experts as required

  • Prepare quotations and detailed technical proposals

  • Provide sales forecasts based on management of sales pipeline

  • Update company's CRM system to track the progress of opportunities and manage follow up. Maintain records to support forecast and build pipeline

  • Assist with marketing activities as required. This may include attending relevant conferences, exhibitions and trade events

The Technical Sales Manager will have:

  • Experience navigating capital approval procedures

  • Proven ability to sell technical services and develop repeat customers and Key Accounts

  • 5 years sales experience of technical products and services to industry

  • >5 years' experience in progressing and generating leads

  • >3 years' experience of international sales territory management

  • Self-motivation; ability to operate autonomously with limited supervision to develop sales leads into orders

  • Proven ability to establish and understand the detailed technical needs of customers relating to laser micromachining and competing technologies

  • Experience of laser systems or laser technology would be advantageous. Do not need to be an expert but must be technically credible in front of the customer

  • Wide experience of customer types and industries would be advantageous, particularly target markets such as the Semiconductor industry, microfiltration, laser welding of dissimilar materials, bio/medical and electronic devices, optical apertures / X-ray imaging
