An opportunity to join a globally recognised manufacturer renowned for exceptional product quality and industry-leading standards.

Our client is looking to appoint an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to become part of their team as they continue to grow and enhance their business.

Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns of heavy industry machinery, fault finding tracing, installation/replacement of electrical parts/supplies, existing equipment improvements, liaise and provide support to the production shift teams, completing daily works records.

Salary: £41,226 - £44,332 per annum depending on experience

Location: Ebbw Vale

Hours of work: Rotating 3 shift pattern

Role & Responsibilities of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Working within all aspects of the engineering team, you will maintain uptime of conveyor and drive systems, fillers, ovens, furnaces, charging systems, motor/gearboxes, including many more facilities.
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Must work with a safe and logical approach to installation and/or breakdown maintenance of equipment
  • Able to complete work to a high standard to relevant British Standards and regulations
  • Possess working knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations (18th Edition preferable) or willing to work towards
  • Provide shift maintenance assistance when required
  • Enforce highest level of housekeeping and safe working practices to ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner to provide and maintain a safe working environment.

As a knowledgeable Electrical Maintenance Engineer, your skills & experience will be as follows:

  • Experience with varying voltages and types of electrical systems and equipment
  • Strong Electrical breakdown maintenance background
  • Basic PLC logic and inverter drive Systems desirable (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi)
  • Responsible and accountable
  • Efficient problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines in a busy environment
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to adapt to various environments and workloads
  • Experience with at point risk assessments and safe working practices
  • Must possess recognised apprenticeship indentures
  • NVQ Level 3 in engineering discipline
